FAQ

Q. How long will my treatment take?

A. This is different for each person, but most clients start seeing a change in your mood in two to three sessions. You’re under no obligation for any set length of time, but you’ll need to stick with your treatment schedule in order to see results.

Some clients only need to learn a few new skills, and they’ll be back to normal in only a few sessions. Someone experiencing transitory stress might need four or five sessions to achieve equilibrium. For clients who are working on traumatic stress or emotional regulation, the treatment program is usually more like 16 sessions.

Q. What about medication? I don’t want to take anything.

A. We can’t write prescriptions, because we don’t have a medical doctor on staff. If it becomes clear to our clinicians that you need to see a psychiatrist for an evaluation, we’ll work together to find one for you. Of course, medication is a personal choice, and you will be the one to decide whether to take it.

Q. What kind of insurance do you accept?

A. At this time, we’re not able to accept any form of insurance. Because of this, our rates are lower than other offices that do accept insurance.

Q. How are you keeping clients safe during the coronavirus pandemic?

A.  Our staff is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We do not have any vaccine or mask requirements unless a statewide mask mandate is instated again. If you would prefer to wear a mask during your session, please feel free.

Q. Do you offer remote sessions (telehealth)?

A. Erin is available for remote sessions. Telehealth works best for highly verbal adults, and you’ll need to have access to an internet-enabled device with camera, and a private place to talk. Your internet needs to be of sufficient strength for a video call.

The service we use is HIPAA-compliant and encrypted.

Q. What is with the ocean pictures?

A. The photos are of my (Erin) favorite beach in North Carolina. I use some ocean and water imagery in some of the guided meditations that I teach to clients dealing with anxiety, and so I chose that theme.
